Sail ATYLA from a tall ships event in Calais to another in Liverpool!
Start your trip in Calais, seeing the city full of ships, and being part of the Parade of Sail, when all the ships leave the port at the same time. You’ll have time to get to know the ship and everyone on board before we set sail, so you’ll be able to climb up the mast to have a great view when we leave the city and take good pictures of the ships around.
This trip will have some fast sailing. We need to be in Liverpool for the start of the regatta celebrations, and we have just enough time to cover the 600 nautical miles that separate the 2 cities, with no cushion.
If we have favourable winds this trip will be amazing, but if we have wind against we’ll have to use the engine and go through. It’s a risk, and that’s why this voyage has the best price of the season. But it will be interesting any way, because our educational programme on board doesn’t depend on the weather. The sail training lessons and the coaching sessions will happen no matter what.
After crossing the English channel we’ll go up north, until reaching Liverpool, where we’ll try to make a great entrance to win the price to the best arrival in port.
