The Tall Ships Races are heading to Dunkirk for the first time - it's The Tall Ships Races Dunkirk 2020!
An international fleet of tall ships takes over the city of Dunkirk in Northern France for The Tall Ships Races Dunkirk 2020. This event will offer a fantastic opportunity for visitors to step aboard many beautiful tall ships from across the world while thousands of crew members meet and compete with their counterparts, bringing international friendship and culture to the forefront of what is sure to be an event like no other.
This will be the first time the city of Dunkirk welcomes The Tall Ships Races and if you're there for a while, likely highlights to look out for are the crew parade which sees hundreds of crew members take to the streets in celebration, fireworks on the closing evening and of course the parade of sail, which will see the tall ships wave goodbye to the city of Dunkirk in quite spectacular fashion.
The Tall Ships Races 2020 sees the fleet return to the Iberian Peninsula once again before heading north to Dunkirk!
The largest event organised by Sail Training International is The Tall Ships Races. It's an annual summer series held in European waters where ports along the route will host festivals that can be expected to bring between 200,000 and 1 million visitors over 3 to 4 days.
