Take on an Adventure from Pennsylvania to the Atlantic Coast of Nova Scotia in 2019

Join the tall ship Picton Castle in Erie, Pennsylvania on August 25th 2019, in the midst of Tall Ships® Erie 2019, for an unforgettable 17 day adventure that will see you travel from the United States to Canada. You'll be getting hands on with setting the sails, steering the ship, keeping watch and more throughout the voyage and the best part is that no experience is required in order to join - you'll be taught everything you need to know before you need to know it at every stage throughout the journey.

Ocean passages can bring conditions fit for only the boldest adventurers seeking the ultimate challenge.

While the Great Lakes may sound easy to tackle, quite often they're not. They are perhaps better described as inland seas. You'll be sailing through the Welland Canal, Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River before transiting the locks of the St. Lawrence Seaway and crossing the Gulf of St. Lawrence. From there you'll sail the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia to the home of Picton Castle. You'll likely be getting to grips with small boat sailing at some point during the trip too, both under sail and by the power of the oar!

Whilst aboard Picton Castle you'll find yourself learning more with every day that goes by with a crew that's more than happy to answer any questions you have and skill-building workshops taking place throughout the journey.
