Helen Mary R, using Sail Training to inspire and change lives!
Our guiding principle is simple, to; ‘Use Sail Training to Inspire & Change Lives’. It’s this principle that helps us deliver rich, innovative & unique adventure sailing voyages. Our voyages are open to young people aged 14-19 who sail from Plymouth, UK aboard Helen Mary R.
Helen Mary R is a Bowman 57 ketch, formally of the Rona Trust. She is hull number 8 of only 14 Bowman 57’s ever built and the only sail training variant. Designed by Holman & Pye she is a fast modern rigged vessel. She was launched in 1986 and has always provided sailing to young people.
Whilst on board you will be involved with all aspects of sailing from hoisting and reefing the sails, to helming, to navigating as well as being responsible for the domestic chores!
“90% of young people taking part learn something about themselves which will make a positive change in their life; some will even make profound life changing discoveries.”
Being part of an adventure sailing voyage aboard widens your horizons and gives you the strength to do anything you put your mind to!
