Guayas is a floating ambassador for Ecuador in every port she visits worldwide, whilst training cadets of the Ecuadorian navy during her time at sea.
Launched in 1976, Guayas is a sister ship to 'Gloria' (Colombia, 1968), 'Simón Bolívar' (Venezuela, 1979), and 'Cuauhtémoc' (Mexico, 1982).
