SV Fame is a class C chebacco schooner.
FAME, a full-scale replica of a privateer schooner that sailed from Salem during the War of 1812.
She offers two-hour cruises on Salem Sound, where pirates, privateers, East Indiamen and men of war have been making history for 400 years.
FAME sails up to four times daily (weather permitting) from Memorial Day through September and then weekends only through Halloween from Pickering Wharf in downtown Salem.
The original FAME was one of the first American privateers to get to sea and one of the first to send in a captured vessel. She captured at least 21 prizes before being wrecked off Nova Scotia in 1814.
