Dar Młodzieży is a class A full-rigged ship.
Originally built for the merchant fleet of the former Soviet Union, Dar Młodzieży ("The Gift of Youth") is now operated by Gdynia Maritime University (Poland) as a school ship for soon-to-be merchant officers. Since her launch over 30 years ago she has regularly participated in numerous international tall ships events, including the annual Tall Ships Races organised by Sail Training International.
This ship was a prototype, constructed ahead of her 5 sisters (Mir, Druzhba, Pallada, Khersones and Nadezhda), each of which varies slightly in design.
Did You Know? Many navies from across the world use tall ships like Dar Młodzieży to expose their cadets to an experience known as 'Sail Training', a course in personal and professional development championed worldwide for its effectiveness in developing key skills in leadership, teamwork and more.
