NTM Creoula, a Sail Training tall ship of the Portuguese Navy

Originally built for and used as a cod fishing vessel between 1937 and 1973, the tall ship NTM Creoula was then chosen to serve as a sail training ship for Marinha Portuguesa (the Portuguese Navy) from 1979 onward due to her still being in excellent condition at the time. She is also made available for other organisations to use for Sail Training purposes.

Creoula was constructed in Lisbon (in a record time of 62 days) alongside her sister ship, Santa Maria Manuela.

Did You Know? Many navies from across the world use tall ships like Creoula to expose their cadets to an experience known as 'Sail Training', a course in personal and professional development championed worldwide for its effectiveness in developing key skills in leadership, teamwork and more.
