RS1 Colin Archer is the prototype of a rescue vessel for the Norwegian Rescue Society, built in 1893 by Norwegian naval architect and shipwright Colin Archer. The boat proved its maneuverability and strength already in the first year of service. More than 30 sailing "redningsskøyter" (rescue vessels) were built over the next 25 years. RS1 Colin Archer is a unique treasure in our maritime heritage.
