Join the tall ship ATYLA in Bilbao on April 18th 2019 for an unforgettable 4 day adventure that both begins and ends in Spain. We highly recommend you get hands on with setting the sails, steering the ship, keeping watch and more though it will be possible to join as a passenger for this voyage if you simply wish to relax onboard. No experience is required to be able to join either and the permanent crew will be on hand to make sure you know all the information you need to in good time.
It's the perfect adventure at sea for your 2019 easter holidays. Leaving from our homeport in the centre of Bilbao, we'll sail west to arrive in Gijón, the biggest city in the region of Asturias. We'll be mooring at the Gijón Marina, right in the town centre.
Of course nobody can visit the Asturias without tasting their delicious gastronomical traditions so, upon arrival in Gijón, we’ll enjoy a delicious buffet dinner at a traditional cider restaurant to celebrate the arrival.
The day after, we will have the chance to enjoy a special Gijón city tour and the last lunch on board before disembarkation. If you have time you can also disembark the day after (Monday), and spend one more night with your fellow shipmates.
In order to keep the diversity on board with people from different countries, both English and Spanish will be spoken throughout the voyage (people that speak very little English can also join us). The team on board will help keep the communication fluid between everyone and we’ll be working on communication skills for multicultural environments.
If you have time, make sure to consider joining also our trip to Vigo, to get a taste of Galicia’s gastronomy and natural wonders.
The voyage cost includes: 3 meals a day and your own private bunk; the buffet dinner and city tour in Gijón; certificated participation in Atyla’s Personal Development Programme; insurance for your time on board (see terms and conditions); and an official Atyla T-shirt.
Your journey aboard this beautiful 2 Masted Staysail Schooner will end in Gijón where you'll disembark on April 22nd.
