Dip a toe in the water for a sailing weekend in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Set sail on the Thames Estuary, Trinovante's home territory. Steeped in sailing history and tradition it's one of the last places in the UK where you will see traditionally rigged boats as a matter of course. Sailing barges and fishing smacks sail and race here throughout the season. Quiet river anchorages echo with the distinctive call of oyster catchers while many other wading birds feed on the mud flats as the tide ebbs and flows. Just a day sail up the coast, you'll be part of the busy commercial activity on the River Orwell at Felixstowe, the largest container port in the country.
