The Swan Trust offers voyages around the Shetland Isles and further afield, including Mainland UK, Faroe, Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
The Swan Trust was formed in 1990 to restore, maintain and operate Swan, a traditional wooden Sail Fifie built in Shetland in 1900. After an extensive restoration, they relaunched Swan as a sail training and charter vessel in 1996. As well as working with schools, youth groups and community groups, they offer bunk and crewed charter to a variety of destinations within and out with the UK. The vessel is MCA category 0 coded, and so can sail anywhere.
When you come aboard Swan you are embarking on a 'hands on' adventure. Whilst playing an active role in sailing and working the ship, you will build friendships with your crew mates, develop new skills and take in stunning scenery. Sailing trips range from 1 to 12 days and the Swan is also available for private charter. Through Sail Training Shetland, sponsored places are made available to people aged 15 to 25 years to take part in Tall Ships Races and other sailing voyages within and out with the UK. No previous sailing experience is required.
