According to The Maine Windjammer Association The 44th Annual Great Schooner Race (also known as Great Schooner Race 2020) will take place in Penobscot Bay, Maine, the United States on Friday, July 3rd 2020.
It's believed that more than 10 tall ships will be in attendance at The 44th Annual Great Schooner Race.
It's said to be the largest annual gathering of traditional schooners in America, a rendezvous of over a dozen 19th century style tall ships. This years main race looks set to be from Islesboro to Rockland Harbor on the 3rd with a number of smaller competitions taking place the day before. You can be a part of the race too as many of the vessels taking part are offering the opportunity to step aboard as a member of their crew for the day.
