If you're looking for something to do in Lisbon in September 2021, we'd highly recommend The Tall Ships Races Lisbon 2021. According to Sail Training International, this event will take place in Lisbon, Portugal, from Thursday, September 2nd to Sunday, September 5th 2021 as a part of The Tall Ships Races Magellan-Elcano 500 Series 2021.

Vessels confirmed so far for The Tall Ships Races Lisbon 2021 include ATYLA.

This event will offer a fantastic opportunity for visitors to step aboard many beautiful tall ships from across the world while thousands of crew members meet and compete with their counterparts, bringing international friendship and culture to the forefront of what is sure to be an event like no other.

Lisbon was the very first port of call for The Tall Ships Races in 1956 and has hosted many more editions since, the most recent of which was in 2016, an edition which our team of Tall Ships Network know-it-alls attended and afterward reported they would do so again in a heartbeat!

The event location (Lisbon Cruise Terminal*) makes for an unforgettable festival experience here - the last edition saw an international fleet of tall ships of all classes berthed end-to-end as far as the eye can see with almost all of them open to visitors to tour at some point throughout the weekend. Added to that is the proximity of Lisbon's beautiful city centre just a short walk away assuring it's not just the tall ships experience you'll be talking about when you get home.

If you're there for a while be sure not to miss the finale events - we expect there'll be fireworks on the final evening followed by a truly unmissable parade of sail the next day as the entire fleet waves goodbye to the city in a way only the tall ships can.
