An international fleet of tall ships takes over the city of Fredrikstad in Norway for Tall Ships Fredrikstad 2019, a part of The Tall Ships Races 2019.
This event will offer a fantastic opportunity for visitors to step aboard many beautiful tall ships from across the world while thousands of crew members meet and compete with their counterparts, bringing international friendship and culture to the forefront of what is sure to be an event like no other.
This will be the third time Fredrikstad welcomes The Tall Ships Races and you’ll be sure to step aboard one of the many Class A ships in attendance, but we also recommend you take the time to see those smaller vessels on show too!
From Fredrikstad The Tall Ships Races 2019 heads to Bergen, before retuning to Denmark for a finale in the city of Aarhus.
The Tall Ships Races 2019, a Tall Ships Series visiting ports across Denmark and Norway.
The largest event organised by Sail Training International is The Tall Ships Races, an annual summer series held in European waters, where ports along the route will host festivals that can be expected to bring between 200,000 and 1 million visitors over 3 to 4 days. Sports, social, and cultural activities will be planned for the thousands of crew members, whilst the highlight of any festival is the crew parade which sees participants from all over the world come together to take over the streets.
The Tall Ships Races 2019 will see the fleet gather in Aalborg, Denmark before racing north to Fredrikstad in Norway. From there they’ll cruise the Norwegian coast to Bergen (a highly recommended voyage if you get the chance) before returning to Denmark for a finale in the city of Aarhus.Read More...
