This iconic Bay of Islands event returns in 2019 with racing now open to vessels of all shapes and sizes. Organised by Russel Boating Club, the regatta regularly welcomes many beautiful tall ships from across Australia and New Zealand for a day of racing followed by an evening of celebration.
Competitors generally race in 3 classes: traditional square riggers, monohull classics, and 'All Comers', a division that all other visiting vessels to compete within. All races will start off Russell Wharf and end off Russel, with their courses covering approximately 18 miles within the confines of the Bay of Islands.
Following the competition there'll be a prize giving at Russell Boating Club followed by celebrations, including live music, up until midnight.
